Calvary Bible Fellowship

This last week I attended a memorial for the wife of  former Pastor of mine. The reoccurring thought that has been with me since I learned of her passing has been their legacies.

Being reminded of Paul’s words in Acts 20:20-24 “20 You know that I did not hold back from proclaiming to you anything that would be helpful, and from teaching you publicly and from house to house, 21  testifying to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.22  And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem without knowing what will happen to me there,23  except that the Holy Spirit warns me in town after town that imprisonment and persecutions are waiting for me. 24  But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace.”. I noticed that Paul says he went from town to town proclaiming and teaching about repentance toward God. He did this despite the Spirit revealing to him of the imprisonments and persecutions waiting for him.

Since the memorial I have been thinking of those who have played roles in my own life challenging me and causing me to grow closer to Christ. From there what impact am I having in others… This week let’s remember that we are called to be LIGHTS in the world pointing to God.
