To Know Christ and Make Him Known
This week I wanted to talk about living our lives for today, since none of us know how long we have. God has numbered our days and we will be here on this earth how ever long Gods has appointed to us.
In Luke 12:16-21 we see 16 He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop, 17 so he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops? 18 Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to myself, “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself? 21 So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God.”
While the main thrust in this passage is about where our focus is (it should be on God not earthly things). I can not help but see the point that none of us know when our lives will be over. So let’s be focus on doing TODAY the things God lays on our hearts. Let’s strive to be faithful every day that God gives us.
We watched a video on Matthew West’s song What If… It can be found on YouTube for anyone who wants to see it.
Let’s be people who aren’t faced with What Ifs.
